Jones DAO · ● Live on Ethereum mainnet

jAURA: auto-compounding AURA

The easiest way for AURA holders to grow their balance. Deposit once, and the strategy locks, votes, collects bribes, sells rewards and compounds them back — so each jAURA becomes backed by more vlAURA over time, without the holder ever selling tokens, locking positions or voting in bribe rounds.

01A dual vault system

On deposit, users choose between maximum yield and full composability. Both vaults auto-compound; they differ in what the holder can do with their position.

Integration

Aura Finance

AURA is locked as vlAURA, earning auraBAL yield and voting power.

Integration

Hidden Hand

Redacted Cartel’s marketplace optimizes every vote round for the maximum bribe yield.

Integration

Balancer

An 80/20 wjAURA/WETH pool keeps the liquid token tradeable and adds boosted yield.

02The reward cycle

Every two-week vote round, the voting engine optimizes votes through Hidden Hand for maximum yield, sells every reward except AURA, and pushes the proceeds through a waterfall. Balancer gauge rewards are compounded too.

  1. Priority 1

    Protocol incentives

A portion goes to the Jones and Aura treasuries, sustaining the strategy and the Aura ecosystem.

  2. Priority 2

    Liquidity incentives

wjAURA only: vote incentives on Hidden Hand for the liquidity pool, sized by the share of wjAURA in the pool.

  3. Priority 3

    Withdrawal queue

If needed, remaining tokens are converted to AURA and fed into a single queue for users who already burned their tokens.

  4. Priority 4

    Vault yield

The rest is converted to AURA, accrued pro-rata to auto-compounding positions and locked for more vlAURA.

jAURA

  • Voting incentives → AURA, compounded into the vault

  • A further 10% of yield used as voting incentives for the wjAURA–ETH pool

03Deposits, withdrawals and anti-gaming

auraBAL yield streams continuously, but vote incentives arrive every two weeks. The withdrawal design keeps anyone from entering right before a round, collecting, and leaving.

Two ways out

Burn tokens to withdraw from the next epoch’s liquid AURA (both vaults, first-come first-served), or — wjAURA only — swap in the Balancer pool at the market rate, any time.

Retention incentive · 3%

Applied on final withdrawal, with 1% redistributed to the vault. Together with the two-week delay, it makes enter-collect-exit gaming uneconomic.

Rehypothecation · 7.5%

A user waiting in the queue can switch to wjAURA and exit immediately through the pool. The 7.5% incentive flows to the pool, so nobody can skip its costs.

Depositing between cycles

AURA is locked as vlAURA and earns auraBAL yield right away, but joins vote incentives only from the next epoch.

04Architecture and multichain

The core lives on Ethereum; LayerZero, Stargate and Socket extend it to Arbitrum and Optimism.

Core contracts · Ethereum

AuraRouter

The only user entry point: deposits into either mode, withdrawal requests with a two-week cooldown, and rehypothecation into wjAURA.

wjAURA vault

ERC-4626 over AURA for the tokenized mode; total assets are read from the strategy, net of pending withdrawals.

Virtual vault

Non-transferable virtual shares with ERC-4626-style accounting for the non-tokenized mode.

Compounder strategy

Locks AURA as vlAURA, harvests auraBAL, claims Hidden Hand bribes, swaps everything back to AURA through pluggable swappers, relocks and delegates votes.

Swappers

One interface, several routes: Balancer (auraBAL), Uniswap V2 / V3, 1inch and 0x.

Rate provider

Exposes AURA per wjAURA to Balancer so the 80/20 pool prices the token correctly.

Cross-chain layer

Arbitrum · Optimism

  • Multichain hub (deposit / withdraw)
  • wjAURA OFT (mint / burn)
  • L2 bribe collector
⇄ LayerZero→ Stargate→ Socket

Ethereum

  • Multichain receiver → AuraRouter
  • wjAURA OFT proxy (lock / unlock)
  • Socket middleware

wjAURA on every chain

wjAURA is a LayerZero OFT — first OFT v1, then OFTV2 — locked on Ethereum and minted / burned on Arbitrum, all behind upgradeable proxies.

Deposit from L2

A hub on Arbitrum or Optimism sends the user's AURA over LayerZero together with a message. A receiver on Ethereum deposits it and returns wjAURA — or refunds the AURA if anything fails.

Withdraw from L2

The same hub sends wjAURA home with a withdrawal request, so an L2 user never has to touch Ethereum.

Bribes from L2

Hidden Hand bribes earned on L2 are claimed, swapped to WETH, unwrapped and bridged to Ethereum with Stargate (v1 and v2) to be compounded.

Bridged deposits

A middleware contract accepts deposits routed through the Socket bridge.

05Composability: the LP strategy

  1. Step 1

    Acquire wjAURA

Deposit AURA in the Jones app on Ethereum mainnet and choose wjAURA.

  2. Step 2

    Add liquidity on Balancer

Pair wjAURA with WETH in the 80/20 pool — $80 of wjAURA with $20 of WETH.

  3. Step 3

    Stake the BPT on Aura

Stake the Balancer pool tokens in the wjAURA/WETH pool on Aura to earn BAL and AURA.
